Texas Bar Five

.
Another post about another horse I used to know.

Texas Bar Five lived with Dixie.  She belonged to my cousin.  A dark-pointed chestnut mare, I think she was also AQHA registered.  She was a cribber, even on pasture, and earned herself the nickname "Beaver".

Pictured between 1990 and 1995.

A cold winters day!

A little bit skinny here, she was nursing a foal.  Can't remember now if they bought her before or after the foal was born.

Here he is!  I think they said his sire was some manner of Arabian, I don't think he was registered.  If my memory serves me, he was sold to some neighbors and named Victory.

A very cute boy, very friendly and also gentle.  Where did that thumb come from?

What's with cutting off all of these noses?  Sheesh!

Dixie Leo Jet

.
Something a little bit different.

Dixie Leo Jet belonged to my aunt.  She was a palomino mare, pretty sure she was AQHA registered and had a few foals.  I decided to upload her pictures because of that fact, just in case somebody wants to look her up!  She was important to me, the horse-crazy kid, and I figure she deserves to be remembered!

All pictures taken between 1990 and 1995.

Dixie, relaxing.

Very cold winters there, she grew a great big fluffy coat!

With her pintaloosa buddy Flare.  Both were very gentle.

A better picture of her small, spotty star.  You can also see the scar on her nose from a barbed wire incident.

More fuzziness!
